Ginger For Side Effects

I want to share a suggestion that Arlene (AJ) contributed in a comment here. She wrote:

If you are having radiation treatments, was told years ago to start eating things with ginger like tea, cookies on a daily basis as ginger is a good helper with radiation burning you might feel. I pass this on to anyone I hear that is going to have radiation treatment. It's worked for several folks I've passed this on. They say the sooner you start this before having radiation the better build up protection this brings....so wanted to pass on to you dear.

I'm happy to have any excuse to eat ginger cookies, and I do know that ginger has a reputation for calming nausea. I found more information about ginger here, suggesting that has anti-inflammatory and immune boosting properties as well.

Since I'm using ginger for nausea, it sounds like a good idea to expand and continue its use through my radiation treatment as well. Thanks, AJ!
