Blog Appearance Makeover

I want to update the appearance of this blog to include a third column, which I think would improve it. When I started this, I didn't know if I would ever share it with anyone, or even if I would continue writing it, so I slapped it together with a pre-made template, changing it a bit to coordinate with my Bald-O-Matic. I like that the blog has a quirky appearance and that the text is easy to read, but I do think it's pretty ugly overall. I've been playing with a three-column template in softer colors with a periwinkle background, but Geoffrey hated my alternate color scheme and told me the current colors are "cool" and make the book covers and other graphic "pop". I think he has a good point.

Now I've lost my objectivity, but thankfully I have a daughter, two cousins, and a friend who are designers, so I welcome input. I thought of making it very minimal, with softer and fewer colors, to give it a more elegant appearance. But there's really nothing elegant about me, and this is supposed to reflect who I am. I am quirky, straightforward, and a bit of a rebel. It sucks to be in the midst of changing my own self-image at the same time as trying to convey it.

Here are a few I've been playing with. The appearance will change once images are added. Click to enlarge if you want.
