I try to share solutions to some of my problems with side effects on chemo, because some people do searches on Google Blogs for such information, and end up here.
My oncology nurse suggested that I might skip the Kytril (an antiemetic) in my premeds on Tuesday, since nausea hadn't been a problem for me on Taxol. She told me that Kytril can cause significant headaches. I skipped it and have found a big improvement in the last couple of days. I feel better than I have in weeks.
I think it's good for all of us to know that while doctors are great, their focus is slightly different, and nurses can be an important resource for information. They treat patients in a more intimate, frequent way, and often learn things from patients that don't typically come up in a doctor visit.
