It seems that some of the side effects I feared would result from taking hormone-reducing treatment to protect against cancer recurrence have not come to pass. In fact, I'm especially pleased that the chemo-brain (fuzzy thinking, speech, and memory problems) I was experiencing seems to have gone away. I credit my efforts to learn about and fold challenging origami as having helped with recovery. In fact, I'm pretty relentlessly curious in general, which keeps me learning new things all the time, and that seems to have given me some health benefits.
The other day someone asked me if I hoped to get married again someday, and I emphatically said, "No way! But that doesn't mean I'm not interested in men." I was pleased to realize that was another concern that hasn't occurred.
Sure, there are plenty of other annoying effects, but the Big Two issues are all good for now. That's a big relief.
