I must be feeling better, since I seem to be making lots of posts today. That's encouraging.
Two things to share. First some sexist humor, only fair since I've poked so much fun at myself on this blog.
After the woman gave birth to a baby, her doctor stood solemnly at her bedside. "I have something I must tell you about your baby.."
"What's wrong?" the alarmed mother asked.
"Your baby is a hermaphrodite."
"What's that?"
"It means your baby has both male and female parts."
"Oh my God!" the woman exclaimed. "You mean he has a penis and a brain?"
[cue laughter]
Second, I want to tell you all about a fantastic service I discovered. It was recommended by STOPGlobalWarming.org. I've taken some of these steps myself, but they go to much greater lengths to do what I want, and it's for 5 years. I'm giving the service to my Mom as a Christmas gift, too.
I just signed up with 41pounds.org to stop my junk mail and help the environment — and raise money for nonprofit organizations. I thought you might want to sign up, too!
For only $41, the 41pounds.org service will reduce your junk mail by 80 - 95% for the next 5 years — and they do all the leg-work. 41pounds.org will contact 20-35 direct mail companies to remove your name from their distribution lists. This includes almost all credit card applications, coupon mailers, sweepstakes entries, magazine offers and insurance promotions, as well as any catalogs you specify.
And, 41pounds.org will donate more than 1/3 of the fee to the nonprofit organization you choose! By stopping our junk mail we:
* Save trees. More than 100 million trees are destroyed each year to produce junk mail. 42% of timber harvested nationwide becomes pulpwood for paper.
* Reduce global warming. The energy used to produce and dispose of junk mail exceeds 2.8 million cars. That’s a lot of greenhouse gas emissions!
* Save water. About 28 billion gallons of water are wasted to produce and recycle junk each year.
* Save time. You waste about 70 hours a year dealing with junk mail.
* Raise thousands of dollars for the environment and our communities.
I hope you’ll sign up at www.41pounds.org or call 866-417-4141 today!
p.s. Did you know that 62 billion pieces of junk mail are produced each year (an average of 41 pounds per household)? And 44% of this junk mail goes directly into our landfills unopened! Let’s stop junk mail with the 41pounds.org service!
